900 cl Twelve-bottle Assortment Case
Description
Rich, bitter orange and apricot nose. Pretty viscous considering the lower RS but lovely tangy acidity. Long, full of spiced barley sugar flavours, but with a slightly abrupt finish, perhaps a slight phenolic grip combined with the high acidity. Bags of character.

Robert Parker 86/100
The 1978 Climens is slightly more concentrated than the 1979, but like the 1979, it lacks the extra dimension that botrytis gives these wines. Because of the weather conditions, little botrytis formed in this vintage. The 1978 is a plump wine, with a fat, fruity concentration, moderate sweetness, full body, and a top-class bouquet of grilled nuts, flowers, and candied apples. This is an elegant wine. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 2/85.Robert M. Parker, Jr. - 01/01/1998
