The Lakes Distillery

The distillery produces single malt whisky using malted barley and water from the River Derwent. They age their whisky in various casks, including Sherry casks, Bourbon barrels, and red wine casks. The botanicals used in their gin include juniper, coriander, angelica root, alongside more unusual flavourings, contributing to a distinctive flavour profile. The distillery also produces vodka, known for its smooth and clean character.

Since its establishment, The Lakes Distillery has undergone expansion and development, demonstrating its commitment to producing high-quality spirits. The most recent release, the Lakes Apex Velocity, has been described by our Buyer, Rob Whitehead, as “the most scrumptious English whisky yet bottled, and a pivotal piece in any serious collection.”
